Challenge
In the first year of COVID-19, the national treatment rate with available therapeutics is less than 1%, even though the product is widely available and patients could be treated. With its COVID-19 therapeutic, the customer is the second provider in an innovative environment. The first product has already been procured centrally by the government and made available to the healthcare system.
Solution
We analyzed the patient pathway and the stakeholders involved to identify key obstacles and derive specific areas for improvement to optimize patient flow. Based on this, we developed a value proposition for treatment centers that was easy to implement in the form of a detailed blueprint. We introduced agile working methods within the customer team in order to quickly test hypotheses and validate MVPs in this complex environment.
Impact
The successful product launch led to market leadership and enabled a 30-fold increase in treatment rates in pilot regions. With our support, the client achieved a systemic improvement in patient care in Germany through a functioning patient pathway and the activation of treatment centers. We also established an agile nucleus for the customer: a cross-functional team with a positive impact on the entire organization.
